Week 3 Power Rankings

1(1) Patriots - Tom Brady is on his way for another 400+ yard game.

2(2) Packers - Did the mighty Packers’ D look a bit shaky against Carolina? Absolutely.

3(5) Jets - IThe Jets made a statement, blowing out the Jaguars. Rookie Muhammad Wilkerson also recorded his first career safety.

4(6) Saints - Drew Brees looks absolutely great so far this season. I’d put him over Rodgers if I was doing QB rankings.

5(4) Eagles – When Michael Vick left the game, Mike Kafka was there to keep the game alive. The Eagles aren’t in as much trouble as you think.

6(3) Ravens - After losing to Tennessee, all you’ve gotta do is move on.

7(10) Texans – I wouldn’t be very surprised if Houston came out with the W Sunday against the Saints.

8(9) Steelers – Now we have seen what the real Steelers are capable of.

9(11) Falcons – Without much help from Michael Turner and Roddy White, the Falcons managed to beat the red-hot Eagles in week 2.

10(12) Lions – With the way Chicago played last week, Detroit is perfectly capable of grabbing that wildcard spot.

11(7) Bears – The Saints were the favorites last week against the Bears, but Chicago played terrible.

12(8) Chargers - The Chargers are what we thought they were. Good on offense, mediocre on defense.

13(15) Redskins – Who would have expected the Redskins to be this good?

14(13) Cowboys – The beat up Cowboys need to beat the red-hot Redskins on Monday night.

15(25) Bills – What an impressive win over Oakland. Now the Bills are going to be put to the test against the flawless Patriots.

16(22) Titans – Matt Hasselbeck showed that he is a leader and a true veteran in the Titans’ impressive win over the Ravens.

17(18) Buccaneers – The Bucs are playing very solid, especially LeGarrette Blount from the running game.

18(17) Giants – The Giants caught a good break with Steven Jackson out. That game could have been uglier for New York if Jackson was active. There is still a lot of need for improvement.

19(21) Raiders – Although they had a tough loss at the end of the game, the Raiders played a great game offensively.

20(20) 49ers – I’m impressed that the 49ers took that game with Dallas into overtime. Tough finish, but a good game played by San Francisco.

21(14) Cardinals – I’m not sure if the Redskins are for real, or the Cardinals just didn’t play well.

22(16) Rams – I’m sure once the Rams get Steven Jackson back they’ll start winning games.

23(28) Panthers – Cam Newton is definitely meeting expectations so far of being the #1 overall draft pick of 2011.

24(30) Bengals – After an awful preseason by Andy Dalton, he is surprisingly playing very well for the Bengals this season.

25(24) Dolphins – Poor play overall by the Dolphins in their loss to Houston.

26(27) Vikings – Until Christian Ponder is ready, don’t expect the Vikings to win many games.

27(29) Broncos – The Broncos aren’t projected to win many games this season, however, they did beat the Browns in a must-win game.

28(31) Browns – The Browns are playing very weak this season.

29(23) Chiefs – Honestly, what’s going on with the Chiefs this season?

30(26) Colts – The Colts are showing that they can’t win without Peyton Manning.

31(19) Jaguars – Why would the Jaguars decide to start Luke McCown? They are better off starting Gabbert, and he’s not even ready.

32(32) Seahawks – Again, I just don’t see the reasoning in starting Tavaris Jackson.

Week 2 Power Rankings

1(1) Patriots- Tom Brady looked really good last season. Now he opens up the season with over 500 passing yards. The Pats are the team to beat.

2(2) Packers - They are definitely the top dogs in the NFC.

3(7) Ravens - The Ravens stomped over the Steelers in week 1, and earned themselves a #3 in the week 2 power rankings.

4(5) Eagles - Still, some issues, but a lot of talent. The Eagles will have a great season.

5(10) Jets - I’m not sure if the Cowboys choked or the Jets stepped up. Regardless, a big win to open the season.

6(4) Saints - Sure, the Saints lost in week 1, but it came down to the last play on the 1-yard line. They are still one of the best in the NFL.

7(9) Bears - The Bears embarrassed the Falcons last week, showing that they are strong on both sides of the football.

8(8) Chargers - The Chargers are what we thought they were. Good on offense, mediocre on defense.

9(3) Steelers – The Steelers played awful against the Ravens. I can’t put them under the 9 spot with that play. They will improve on those mistakes in week 1, however.

10(12) Texans – The Texans showed that they are certainly capable of winning their division this year.

11(6) Falcons – Atlanta had a random beating last week, but that was out of the ordinary. They’ll be better than that.

12(17) Lions – Detroit is now for real. They are definitely threats to making playoffs this year.

13(11) Cowboys - Dallas played well for the most part Sunday night, however completely choked at the end.

14(21) Cardinals - The Kevin Kolb trade looks like it was worth it. Arizona did lose this previous game, but they certainly played well offensively.

15(31) Redskins – The Redskins were projected to be awful and they played great against the Giants, especially Rex Grossman.

16(18) Rams – I’m sure the Rams could have won that game against Philly, hadn’t Bradford and Steven Jackson getting injured. I’m thinking they will win their division.

17(15) Giants – If Eli’s really in Tom Brady’s class, the Giants would’ve won that game.

18(13) Buccaneers – The Bucs need to play better at home, especially against Detroit.

19(25) Jaguars – I wasn’t expecting the Jags and Luke McCown to beat the Titans and Matt Hasselbeck, but they played well enough to get the W.

20(23) 49ers – Good coaching all around by Mr. Harbaugh. I think hiring him was the right deceision.

21(20) Raiders – I like the Raiders offensively; defensively, a bit of a problem.

22(22) Titans – I wish Matt Hasselbeck would have won that game last week so I could rank the Titans higher, but he needs to step up being the vet he is.

23(16) Chiefs – Awful.

24(24) Dolphins – It was pretty obvious that New England was going to beat the Dolphins, but they played pretty good offense.

25(29) Bills – If the Bills stay consistent, they could beat out Miami for the #3 spot in the AFC East.

26(14) Colts – Losing the face of your franchise is tough…

27(19) Vikings – When your QB throws for 39 yards in the game, it’s pretty unlikely that you’ll win the game.

28(30) Panthers – Big debut for Cam Newton. I’m still not sold on him, but if he continues good play, I’d rank Carolina higher.

29(26) Broncos - Right now, the decision of starting Kyle Orton was John Fox’s best.

30(32) Bengals – The Cedric Benson game-winning run put the Bengals in front of the Browns.

31(27) Browns – The Browns better beat the Manning-less Colts this week.

32(28) Seahawks – I just don’t see the reasoning of starting Tavaris Jackson.

Week 1 Power Rankings

1. Patriots - I would have put the Packers at #1, but the last team to repeat Super Bowls was the Patriots. How ironic?

2. Packers - They breezed through the playoffs, and have an extremely good offense and defense. Cheeseheads will be happy this year.

3. Steelers - They have arguably the best defensive in the NFL, and one of the toughest QBs in the NFL. They are tough all around, and that usually leads to victory (along with good play, of course).

4. Saints - With one of the best QBs in the game right now and a leader, look for the Saints to have a lot of success this season.

5. Eagles - If it weren't for good spending over the offseason, I'm not sure PHI would be this highly ranked. They were impressive last year and with great additions, they should be even better.

6. Falcons - Led by a young veteran QB Matt Ryan and new WR Julio Jones, look for an explosive offense from Atlanta this year.

7. Ravens - Baltimore had good WR changes, which was a bit of a problem for them last season. Very good defense and reliable Joe Flacco will bring good things to the table.

8. Chargers - Risky putting SD this high, but I think Rivers and the Chargers will finally have success in the playoffs this year.

9. Bears - Hey, look who got O-line help? Da Bears! That was a HUGE issue last season. With a fixed O-line, the Bears should score more TDs, with time.

10. Jets - The Jets shouldn't be this low, but with a disappointing offseason, they lacked to re-sign players and sign players. Are their wild card chances evaporating?

11. Cowboys - With Wade Phillips out of town and a better coach Jason Garrett in town, the Cowboys should have a normal Dallas year, not like their horrific last year.

12. Texans - The Texans did an extremely good job over the offseason fixing their defense. They moved Mario to OLB, giving more vast defending options while still producing a pass-rush. Drafting JJ Watt was huge, and he'll be good. Finally, the additions of Danieal Manning and Jonathan Joseph at CB will improve their secondary a lot.

13. Buccaneers - Tough division to be in for a 10-6 team last season. The Bucs have a lot of talent, they are just in the wrong division. I still think they are a top-15 team though.

14. Colts - With Manning out, how far can Kerry Collins bring Indy to victory?

15. Giants - I would have ranked NYG higher, but with bad luck coming to their defense, they had far too many injuries.

16. Chiefs - The Chiefs were in their rebuilding stage, and now they are proving they are a playoff-caliber team.

17. Lions - What a draft the Lions had in April! Too bad about Mikel Leshoure, but their defensive line now consists of Suh, Corey Williams, Nick Fairley, and Vanden Bosch. I feel bad for whoever is running the ball against Detroit! If Stafford can stay healthy, we'll see you in the playoffs!

18. Rams - I like what the Rams are doing overall with their improvements. Bradford is proving he can make it in the NFL, and he's got good guys to throw to. I see James Laurinaitis helping their defense to 9 wins and a playoff spot.

19. Vikings - The Vikings were great with Favre in 2009, but in 2010 with lack of QB help, they failed to be successful. Now that they have McNabb and a young learning Christian Ponder, they should be back to normal.

20. Raiders - The Raiders had a tough break losing Asomugha but Jason Campbell seems to have settled in nicely in Oakland.

21. Cardinals - Hopefully Kevin Kolb can help the Cardinals win some games.

22. Titans - I like the Titans this year, and I love what they did for their QB situation. Locker being taught under Hasselbeck? I love it.

23. 49ers - Jim Harbaugh was good coaching at Stanford, and I think he'll be good with San Francisco. He's just got to realize that Alex Smith is a bust.

24. Dolphins - Reggie Bush, Daniel Thomas, and Larry Johnson at the backfield? Miami sure does love their running backs. Miami still has a lot of issues, and especially at QB.

25. Jaguars - Luke McCown starting at QB? Whatever floats your boat....

26. Broncos - Good thing their fans didn't decide who's starting at QB because Kyle Orton is what they need.

27. Browns - It seems Peyton Hillis is all they have at hope for offense. Cleveland will not have success this year.

28. Seahawks - Tavaris Jackson? That is called taking a risk. He struggled in the preseason, and he most likely will in the regular season, too.

29. Bills - The Bills need defensive help immediately.

30. Panthers - I like what the Panthers did with their defense over the offseason, but was taking Cam Newton 1st overall the right choice?

31. Redskins - Maybe Rex Grossman can help get a few wins for the 'Skins.

32. Bengals - Let's just face it. The Bengals are just awful.
