So it is here at last...Football will start on time with no game cancelled (Except the HoF game) So what can we expect this year in the Fantasy world? Well...I'm just going to say it right now. Handcuffs! No, im not talking about Micheal Vick getting caught playing with dogs again, I am talking about the one thing we all hate...INJURIES! I expect we will see them in the early weeks, perhaps to much for comfort. Clearly this is due to players not being able to get their bodies in shape the way they were use to. With the lockout players were unable to see their team trainers and all that jazz. I mean the biggest signal we have right now is the whole Peyton Manning injury. If I told you back in June that Manning wasn't going to start in Week 1, what would you have said? Its sad to know we won't see him play week 1 (who knows how many other weeks at this point) but its something I had a hunch about. These injuries... It is the main reason to make sure you have your top player's handcuffs or other top players handcuffs. We will see players drop the first few weeks, we will be given all the run around about their status, we will be more frustrated this year than ever, but hey, what can you expect from a lockout?

So nothing positive eh? Well...not all players just sat around and waited for things to get resolved. There were many players who "gathered the troops" and created workouts to keep them ready. The two that stick out to me are Drew Brees and Philip Rivers.  So if you have players from the Saints or Chargers...I think you shouldn't expect anything serious in the first couple weeks as far as injuries go. I never drafted handcuffs in my drafts unless it was for my top picks. This year I am already banking on some players to go down and picked up their handcuffs (most of them my oppenent's) I also think the lockout will favor teams who aren't so young for the first couple of weeks. Remember they didn't have much time to get everything together like they usually do, So I am willing to bet the players that finished great last year will see their numbers continue in that style for the first couple weeks while everyone else is "catching up"

These first couple weeks will be interesting to watch. I have prepared myself for the frustration that I am expecting. I am also going to be ready to pick up those handcuffs as needed. I will also be smiling when that first kickoff starts to begin a new season that was in doubt. I think we are in for a bumpy ride these next few weeks, but hey, its gonna make it memorable and teach us the importance of being "on your game". Good luck to everyone this year and I hope to see many of you having us as a website to give you all the advice you need.
